Eldrich stood by his horse, lingering to caress the beast's rough mane and prolong the inevitable surrender. The horse's eyes were black, the thick lashes flickered vaguely and flies trailed over the exposed flesh. He picked at the little insects and stroked at the bruise that had formed on the animal's head, lamenting how the fur slid aside to show a rough and raw stretch of skin.
'What you've been through,' he murmured, pressing his head close to the horse's so that none of his own men or the guards that had escorted them into the encampment could hear him, 'what we've both been through – and only to fail.'

"I love you, brother," Loki said sternly. His gaze seemingly endless until he broke the stare with himself in the mirror. His new look a much more naive and nervous one with his newly blushed cheeks.
